Hello! My name is Carolyn Groves and I am the founder of Portland Homeschooling Resources and also Homeschoolers Moving to Portland – www.HomeschoolersMovingToPortland.com.
I have two daughters aged 20 & 17 who have (almost) always been homeschooled. My older daughter applied and was accepted into Portland Community College’s (PCC) Gateway to College program, and is now studying Landscape Architecture at the University of Oregon. My younger daughter wanted to try high school early in the pandemic and had one successful online term at our local public high school, but ultimately decided to follow in her sister’s footsteps to PCC.
I know exactly what it is like to move to Portland for its incredible homeschooling resources. In 2008 my family moved here from Wyoming for that very reason! My daughters and I have found Portland to be a fantastic city for homeschooling, with an amazing community, and seemingly endless activities.
Professionally, I started out as a librarian. When I got to Portland I was a full-time homeschool mom for a number of years then worked part-time for Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider for 5 years in the craft beverage industry, and I’ve been a Realtor since 2017. I love helping people find their Portland home!
